More than 100 people attended a concert at Wimbledon & District Synagogue organised by Vivien Spevock on Sunday 26th of January. The event, entitled ‘A Musical Celebration Evening’ raised in excess of £2,100 for Chai’s vital services.
Following the event, Vivien said: “The concert was a sparkling event from start to finish. We began with Yiddish and Ladino music, then, following an interval, there were songs from the Beatles. We concluded with “Do the Continental”, a selection of songs from all over the Continent. Guests enjoyed wine, tea and a selection of delicious cakes during the interval and those new to the synagogue were able to look round its lovely facilities.”
There were over 50 raffle prizes donated by several generous people and many people went home with a lovely gift. The winning numbers were drawn by 11 year old, Zach Spevock, Vivien’s grandson.
