This tough but incredibly rewarding challenge combines the breath-taking scenery of the High Atlas Mountains with the splendour and vibrancy of Marrakech.
From the high Atlas Mountains to the bustling spice markets of Marrakech, join Chai Cancer Care as we travel through desert, lush mountain valleys and fully immerse in Berber culture. This challenge will see you climbing over Africa’s tallest peak – Jebel Toubkal which stands at a majestic 4,167m!
Day 1, Sunday 19th June:
Today you’ll depart from London and touch down in the vibrant Marrakech
Day 2, Monday 20th June:
Here you begin your trek! After a final briefing, you’ll leave the city and travel to the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. At 2,000m sits the village of Imlil, your starting point. The route follows the river towards Sidi Chamarouch. Marrakech to the Atlas Mountains.
Day 3, Tuesday 21st June:
Following an early start, you head towards your destination. The Toubkal summit is tough but you’ll dig deep and the team will push each other through to reach the top of North Africa’s highest peak.
Day 4, Wednesday 22nd June:
Today sees an easy descent back to Sidi Chamarouch. After a refreshment pitstop, it’s a two hour hike to Aremd before one final push to Imlil. Here is where you say goodbye to your guides before heading back to Marrakech.
Day 5, Thursday 23rd June:
Wave goodbye to Marrakech and start choosing your favourite photos to humbly brag and show off to your friends and family!
