On Tuesday 25th May, Ora Kutner chose to cut her long hair in aid of Chai and Zichron Menachem. Her selfless act has raised over £3,500 so far.
Ora has donated her hair to Zichron Menachem to make much needed wigs for children who have lost their hair during treatment.
On behalf of everyone at Chai, we would like to thank Ora for her amazing dedication and incredible fundraising!

To mark my Bat Mitzvah, I will be cutting my hair to raise money for charity. I have been growing my hair for over 4 years for this occasion. I will be donating my hair to Zichron Menachem to create wigs for children who have undergone chemotherapy and lost their hair, and I am also raising money for Zichron Menachem and for Chai Cancer Care. I have wanted to do this mitzvah for a very long time, and I am thrilled to finally be able to do it.
When my mum was diagnosed with cancer, it was a big shock for us all. Chai supported our family from the start and throughout my mum’s treatment, and we are thankful for all that they did for us, and I really wanted to raise money for them.
On a personal note, before my mum got sick, I took everything for granted. As I have become more mature and reached my bat mitzvah, I know how fortunate that I am and I have felt the need to do more and try to make a positive difference.
