Chai’s Chief Executive, Lisa Steele, said: “The recent figures showing that more than 300,000 people have missed cancer checks since the start of the pandemic is of critical concern.

Realising the seriousness of this situation back in February, Chai’s Medical Advisory Panel were compelled to release ‘A letter to the Community’, urging anyone with any cancer related concerns or symptoms to visit their GP.

At Chai we have seen first-hand the added layer of trauma that our clients have been facing due to postponed and cancelled screenings, treatments and surgeries. In the last year we have seen a surge of clients turning to Chai and our specialised support and care has never been more needed.”
