Many practical questions accompany a cancer diagnosis. Chai provides information about a wide range of services and benefits clients may be entitled to.

Advocacy and Advice
Chai Cancer Care provides information to help clients navigate the maze-like benefits system and apply for the services and support to which they may be entitled for example, a Blue Badge. Income will determine eligibility for some benefits from the NHS and local authorities, but others are not means tested and we can advise on these too. We’re also on hand with help to complete the often complex application forms required.
Chai can signpost clients to help with issues such as housing, debt and employment discrimination.
We advise on carer and nursing support, and residential and nursing home options. We also liaise with statutory agencies, multi-disciplinary teams, hospitals and hospices, for instance when care packages are being set up
We can refer you to specialist providers including palliative care teams, genetic services, voluntary and care agencies as well as practical patient aids such as hospital beds, wheelchairs and other living aids.
For clients wishing to travel, we can provide a list of companies to approach that offer insurance for pre-existing conditions.
