Chai Cancer Care sets up permanent base with Jewish Care Scotland in Giffnock

Chai Cancer Care is setting up a permanent base by taking a dedicated room within the Walton Community Care Centre in Giffnock, in a new partnership with Jewish Care Scotland.

For a number of years, Chai have delivered some of their local services within Jewish Care Scotland using one of the social care charities delivery spaces.  From April, Chai will have exclusive use of the space to ensure it is a welcoming, safe haven for people accessing their services.

Jewish Care Scotland Chief Executive, Linda Kemp, said of the move, “We are delighted that Chai will have a more permanent presence within the Walton Community Care Centre.  This move strengthens the existing relationship between us both and progresses our aim to work closely with other community organisations.  The work that Chai does is invaluable as sadly many people in the community are affected by a cancer diagnosis.  It’s important for people to feel safe and comfortable when accessing these services and we hope that a permanent, familiar space within the building will make a difference during challenging times.”
