Chai’s spectacular Rosh Hashanah Gift Sale raises over £38,000!

On Monday 11th September, Chai’s flagship centre in Hendon was buzzing with action as more than 900 dedicated supporters came from far and wide with the dual mission to shop and support Chai!. This year was bigger and better than ever, featuring 12 new stalls, many debuting for the first time in London. 39 vendors offered an eclectic mix of beautiful clothes, jewellery, homeware, Judaica, flowers, chic millinery and a huge variety of other fabulous gifts.

And it didn’t stop there! Keeping visitors fuelled throughout the day was Ben Tenenblat, who brought his now iconic Crave pop-up restaurant with a mouth-watering menu of delicious food to be enjoyed in Chai’s beautiful garden or to take away.

Event Committee Co-Chairs, Debra Zender and Julia Abrams, said: “We have spent the last year sourcing fabulous gifts from all over the world and we are blown away by the support of the community, with more than £38,000 raised. An amazing amount of money which will go a long way in helping to support Chai’s vital work.

Heartfelt thanks to our generous and loyal sponsors Roundtree Real Estates, Tony Page for once again gifting 300 of his famous honey cakes, CST for their security on the day and all the stall holders who gave a percentage of their takings. Everyone’s fantastic support resulted in the significant success of the event and we are so grateful.”

Chai’s chairman Louise Hager said: “The Gift Sale is always a highlight of our calendar. Not only is this an important fundraising event, but it provides an ideal opportunity for many to visit Chai for the first time and experience the special atmosphere that has such a positive effect on all those who benefit from our specialised services.”
