Chai’s spectacular 10th Anniversary Rosh Hashanah Gift Sale raises over £32,000!

On Tuesday 20th September, Chai’s flagship centre in Hendon was a hive of activity as dedicated supporters came from far and wide with the mission to shop. Over 25 vendors were on hand offering an eclectic mix including clothes, jewellery, beautiful homeware, Judaica, flowers, chic millinery and a range of other fabulous gifts.

And it didn’t stop there! Keeping visitors fuelled up throughout the day was Ben Tenenblat who brought his now iconic gourmet street food truck Crave out of retirement just for Chai, Piu Gusto’s Roman style pizza van and Oh Brown Bear’s Iced Coffee and cookies which were all on hand serving mouth watering food and refreshments.

Event Committee Co-Chairs, Debra Zender and Julia Abrams, said: “After a few challenging Covid years, we were delighted to hold our annual Gift Sale in its regular, well-loved capacity. There was a fantastic atmosphere inside the building and lovely to see a steady stream of shoppers all day.

Every year, we are completely blown away by the support shown by the community and this year was no exception with over £32,000 raised. An amazing amount of money which will go a long way in helping to support Chai’s vital work.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors Roundtree Real Estates, Tony Page for once again gifting 300 of his famous honey cakes, CST for their security on the day and all the stall holders who kindly gave a percentage of their takings. This success of this event could never have happened without their generosity and for that we are so grateful.”

Chai’s chairman Louise Hager said: “The Gift Sale is always a highlight of our calendar but this year was an extra special occasion as it was the 10th Anniversary event. Not only is this an important fundraising event, but it provides an ideal opportunity for many to visit Chai for the first time and experience the special atmosphere that has such a positive effect on all those who turn to us.”
