‘Team Chai’ Cycle 100 Miles in aid of Chai

On Sunday 29th May, ‘The Boys’– otherwise known as Philip Hertz, Russell Tenzer, Charles Barnett & Leon Angel formed Team Chai and took on this year’s Ride London. The world-famous event from Victoria Embankment to Tower Bridge raising over £15,000 and counting for Chai!

Following the challenge, Chai Trustee, Philip said: “We have all unfortunately been touched by this terrible disease and greatly admire the work Chai does for the Community. The 100-mile challenge is pretty tough and is the cycling equivalent of a marathon, but the thing that kept us going – apart from the energy bars and looking for a decent coffee stop – was the knowledge we were raising vital funds for Chai.”

Charles echoed Philip’s sentiments by explaining: “We all know someone who has needed the amazing services that Chai provides. The community is rightfully very proud of the amazing work that Chai does, and we are equally proud to have been able to participate in this event to raise the vital funds to provide these much needed services.”

Louise Hager, Chai’s Chairman said: “I’d like to congratulate and thank ‘Team Chai’ for taking on this very impressive challenge. The £15,000 raised will help us to ensure that we can continue to provide our expertise and care to all those who need to turn to us.”
